Start a New RSO
UW Seattle has many great student organizations and is always open to more! If you have an idea for a new club, follow the steps below to make the leap from informal group to Registered Student Organization.
How to Start an RSO
Follow these steps to start a new registered student organization at UW Seattle!
1. DEVELOP AN IDEA
Have a hobby, activity, or interest you love doing? Be sure to check out our RSO Directory at huskylink.washington.edu to see if any RSOs of the same nature exist!
2. GATHER 5-10 GROUP ADMINISTRATORS
All RSOs are required to have between 5-10 Group Administrators- no more, no less. Group Administrators are student officer members who are the official public representatives of the RSO
3. COMPLETE RSO REGISTRATION ORIENTATION
After gathering 5-10 Group Administrators, ONE Group Administrator must be designated as the registrar of the group. The designated registrar will be responsible for watching the RSO Registration Orientation recording (linked below on this page) and filling out the application.
4. SUBMIT YOUR REGISTRATION APPLICATION!
Following the instructions in the orientation recording, log into Huskylink to complete and submit all components of the registration application. If all requirements are met, your RSO application will be approved!
5. REVIEW & SIGN TERMS OF CONDITIONS OF RSO STATUS
Upon the approval of your RSO’s application, each individual Group Administrator must review and sign the Terms of Conditions of RSO Status. Group Administrators will receive a Huskylink notification and email for this step.
