The Student Activities Office is looking forward to your presence at the 35th Annual Student Activities Fair on Red Square September 25 through 27!
Deadline to RSVP: Wednesday, September 11 by 5:00 pm
Updates for This Year:
- We are bringing back a 3-day fair this year. RSOs can select one day of attendance at the fair. Capacity is first-come, first-served, based on when this form is submitted.
- RSOs will each have their own table, and are assigned a table space!
- RSOs may have up to 2 representatives present at their table.
- Hand sanitizer, trash bags, and chair racks will be set up under each big tent.
- We will have a Display Corral for some groups that have a project to display (formula racecar, mars rover, insanely large Greek letters, etc). This option is available first-come, first-served, and limited to 4 spaces each day of the fair.
- For groups that would like a quieter environment, or additional social distancing, you may request to use a Resource Center tent to set up on the Quad during the fair. Capacity is limited to the first 13 groups that request this accommodation for their day, and you’ll check in and out equipment from the Resource Center in the HUB.
- If you request changes to your day and/or location, they are not guaranteed and will be reviewed after the submission deadline which is September 11th at 5:00 PM.
- If you are interested in being a Tent Captain at this year’s fair, answer the question on the RSVP. Benefits and responsibilities can be viewed at Student Activities Fair RSO Tent Captain Description Benefits Responsibilities.docx
Important details for the fair:
- Priority check-in begins at 9:00am the 3 days of the fair. You must check in with SAO at the HUB Operations Tent (next to the Red Square smokestacks) before 9:45 am all days of the fair. RSOs that do not check in with SAO by 9:45 am on their assigned day will lose their space, and it will be given to an RSO on the waitlist. This is a very popular event, so please be on time!
- No taking another RSO’s spot! There will be tent captains ensuring all RSOs are at their assigned tables.
- Location: Red Square/Quad
- Fair Time: 10 am to 2 pm each day
- Space: One 6-foot table. You may be asked to remove items if your space moves outside of that table.
- Chair update: Each RSO table may use 2 chairs.
- Giveaways only, no fundraising or marketing for off-campus companies: Swag, flyers are great! If you choose to give out snacks, only single-serving, commercially packaged foods allowed (candy, chip bags, etc.)
- Clean up: Please be mindful of your space, and clean up your flyers/belongings/swag each day of the fair. Return chairs to the chair rack, and use garbage bags available at each supply kiosk under your tent!
- RSOs are strongly encouraged to use online tools to collect new member information and limit hand contact at their booths.
- And last but not least: HAVE FUN!
The Student Activities Office in the HUB will be closed from March 18 – March 22, 2024. We will be operating remotely. Please email your SAO advisor, or for general inquiries, reach us at sao@uw.edu. RSOs can check who their advisor is by visiting their Huskylink account.
