HUB Amenities

ATMs in the HUB

The HUB is home to six ATMS, most of which offer $5 bills and postage stamps. For problems with an ATM, please contact the banking institution directly.

• First Floor: U.S. Bank – outside their branch
• Ground Floor: Bank of America, Boeing Employees Credit Union – BECU, Chase, Wells Fargo (by Etc. Cafe), Washington State Employees Credit Union – WSECU.

HUB Baby Changing Station

The HUB is committed to assisting with the childcare needs of students and all HUB visitors and has Baby Changing Stations installed in certain restrooms.

• First Floor: Men’s and Women’s bathrooms
• Ground Floor: Men’s and Women’s bathrooms
• Third Floor: Gender neutral bathroom

Bike Racks

HUB Bike Racks

The HUB has several outdoor bike racks and one bike house for riders to secure their bikes. Bikes are NOT allowed inside the HUB.

• HUB North Entrance: 2 Racks – By ASUW Bike Shop and between North Entrance and N-22
• HUB Southwest Entrance: 1 Rack – Between HUB and Sieg Hall
• HUB South: 1 Rack by Bus Stop
• HUB Loading Dock: 1 Bike House (requires rental)

The HUB’s Commuter Kiosk on the first floor provides information and schedules for the following transportation options for the greater Seattle area.

HUB Compost & Recycling

The HUB is committed to the University’s mission of reducing waste and provides Compost, Recycling, and Trash receptacles throughout all areas of the HUB, large meeting and event spaces, and in all units & offices. The HUB encourages all HUB visitors and guests to properly dispose of trash and recyclable materials.

Freight Elevators

HUB Freight Elevator

The HUB has 3 freight/service elevators available for back of the house use. Each freight elevator accesses different locations and floors of the HUB including the HUB Loading Dock. An elevator card is required to access and use the freight elevators. Elevator cards may be checked out from the HUB Info Desk with a valid photo ID.

Passenger Elevators

HUB Passenger Elevators

The HUB has 3 passenger elevators for use by all visitors and guests. The dual elevators (closest to the HUB Main Desk) run from the HUB Third floor to the HUB Basement floor. The single elevator (closest to the HUB Lyceum) runs from the HUB Third floor to the HUB Sub-Basement.

eMedia Recycling

The HUB has one eMedia recycling bin that facilitates disposal of electronic media in a safe and responsible way. The eMedia bin, located on the HUB First floor by the double elevators, may be used to dispose of ink cartridges, batteries, small personal electronics (pagers, pdas, cellphones), and media (cds, dvds, video & audio tapes)

HUB Fireplace

The HUB has two (2) large fireplaces at the north and south sides of the First Floor Lounge.

HUB Foot Washing Station

The HUB has 2 foot washing stations, one each in the men’s and women’s bathrooms on the HUB Basement floor.

HUB All Gender Restroom

The HUB has an all gender, family-friendly, and disability accessible restroom on the HUB Third Floor. Please note, all HUB restrooms are ADA compliant.

HUB Hydration Station

A Hydration Station is more than just a water fountain. It provides healthier, filtered water. The no-touch water dispenser is great for filling up your personal water container. There are 1-2 hydration stations located on each floor of the HUB. The HUB is committed to reducing plastic bottles in the waste stream.

Lactation Station

Care givers are welcome to utilize the space and lactation services provided in the Commuter & Transfer Commons (HUB 141). The space is available on a first come, first served basis during Commuter & Transfer Commons operating hours. For access outside of operating hours, please contact the HUB Information Desk.

HUB Loading Dock

The HUB loading dock is located on the east side of the HUB along Stevens Way NE. The dock can accommodate up to 2 semi-trucks (back-in parking) or 4 delivery trucks in separate bays. The loading dock is NOT a parking lot. The loading dock has access to 2 freight elevators.

Microwaves in the HUB

There are several microwaves in the HUB available for personal use.

• Commuter Commons [HUB 145]: 2 microwaves (Commuter students only)
• Etc. [HUB Ground]: 1 microwave (by the ATM)
• Husky Den [HUB Ground]: 1 microwave (around the corner from Red Radish)
• Resource Center [HUB 111]: 1 microwave (RSO students only)

UW Shuttles

The UW Night Ride service has two stops on the west side of the HUB – at both bus stops closest to the HUB on Stevens Way. Night Ride Shuttles are operated and managed by UW Transportation Services.

The HUB has several restrooms across the building.

• Basement Floor: Across from the HUB Lockers
• Ground Floor: Near Husky Den Food Court between stairs leading to first floor, Near the south elevator
• First Floor: Main Atria
• Second Floor: Near the Mural Lounge, South Ballroom entrance
• Third Floor: Near HUB 337

HUB Study Space

The HUB has lots of study space and power sources for students to study independently or as a group. Each floor in the HUB has tables, couches, & chairs in the lounges. Students are welcome to study at the HUB during building hours.

• First Floor: North Entrance Lounge, Main Lounge, HUB Street, Lyceum Foyer
• Second Floor: North Lounge, Mural Lounge, South Lounge, South Prefunction (when not in use)
• Third Floor: 2 lounges near elevators
• Ground Floor: Husky Den seating
• Basement Floor: HUB Games Foyer
• SubBasement Floor: Lounge near HUB Meditation Room

Vending Machines

There are several vending machines on the HUB Ground floor that provide water, milk products, snacks, and Coca-Cola products. All vending machines accept Husky Cards, dollar bills, and coins. Anyone experiencing difficulties with a machine is encouraged to contact phone number listed on the specific machine. HUB staff cannot resolve mechanical issues or offer refunds for the vending machines.

HUB Way Finding Screens

The HUB has 5 touch screens with way-finding capabilities located throughout the HUB. Guests are encouraged to engage with the screens for HUB floor maps, meeting and event schedules, and to view the HUB’s website and social media channels.

WiFi in the HUB

Wireless access is provided in all campus buildings, including the HUB. A UWNetID is required to access the internet outside of the UW websites using the “University of Washington” wireless network.
